בדיבור עקיף נצטרך לשנות את הכינויים:

במקום:

:I  — he, she

.Tom said, “I can do it. - Tom said he could do it

.Jane said, “I finished homework.” - Jane said she had finished homework

במקום:

:you — I, me, us

.My teacher said, “You can do it.” - My teacher told me I could do it

.Mom said, “I will help you.” - Mom said she would help me

.The grandpa said, “I have made  a delicious cake for you.” - The grandpa said he had cooked a delicious cake for us

במקום:

:we — they

.My friends said, “We will visit you.” - My friends said they would visit me

:my - his/her, our - their,  and so on

.Tom told us, “I will show you my new game next time.” - Mike told us he would show us his game next time
