Five Opinions
B1The source labels this B1–B2, but the actual language and task demand fit B1 better.
John: "I hate winter. It's so gloomy and I always catch a cold. Plus, all the fun outdoor games like beach volleyball and frisbee become impossible to play." (Example: Last winter, John had to miss his friend's ski trip because he had the flu.)
Samantha: "I love autumn. It's the perfect weather for cozy sweaters and boots. And there are so many fun activities like apple picking and pumpkin carving." (Example: Last year, Samantha went on a hayride with her family and created the most intricate pumpkin carving of her life.)
David: "I can't decide which season is my favorite. They all have their own unique charm. Spring has beautiful blossoms and great weather. Summer means beach days and barbecues. Fall brings fantastic foliage and apple cider. Winter has Christmas and snowmen." (Example: David's Facebook page has an equal number of pictures of him enjoying each season with different friends.)
Emily: "I absolutely adore fashion! I think clothes are an expression of who we are and our personality. I love experimenting with different styles and trends. Sometimes when I put on a great outfit, it just makes me feel unstoppable." (Example: Emily recently spent way too much money on a pair of designer shoes, but she felt like they were worth every penny because they made her feel confident and stylish.)
Mark: "I'm sorry, but this topic is just trivial. There are so many more important things to worry about than months and seasons, games, and clothes. People should focus on things that truly matter like solving world hunger and creating a cleaner environment." (Example: Not long ago Mark watched a news segment about children suffering from malnutrition and was struck by how insignificant things like fashionable clothing seemed in comparison.)

B1 production tasks. Use the + button to open a scenario.
Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a season. Have the groups prepare a weather report for their assigned season. They can create a script and include information about the typical weather patterns, activities, and clothing associated with that season. Each group then presents their weather report to the class.
Create a large calendar on the board or on a poster. Assign each student a month, and they have to come up with an event or activity associated with that month (e.g., January - New Year's Day, February - Valentine's Day). The students take turns sharing their events with the class, and the rest of the students try to guess the corresponding month.
Assign each student a season and have them create a character that represents that season. They should describe their character's appearance, personality, and favorite activities. Students can then pair up and role-play conversations between their seasonal characters, discussing what they like to do during their respective seasons.
Have students work in small groups and assign each group a season. They have to create a fashion show presentation showcasing appropriate clothing for that season. Each group can prepare visuals or even dress up in clothing representing their assigned season. They then present their fashion show to the class, describing the outfits and explaining why they are suitable for that season.
Divide the class into pairs or small groups and assign each group a month. Students have to create a travel brochure for a specific destination during that month. They should include information about the weather, popular activities, and attractions during that time of year. The groups can then present their travel brochures to the class, persuading them to visit their chosen destinations.
