3️⃣ English Explanation

In this lesson, we learn four useful expressions for everyday home tasks:

to turn on, to turn off, to clean up, and to throw away.

To turn on means to start a light, TV, computer, or another device.

To turn off means to stop it.

To clean up means to make a place clean and tidy.

To throw away means to put something in the bin because you do not need it anymore.

These expressions are very common at home and also useful in classroom English.

They help students talk about real actions in simple, clear situations.

6️⃣ Funny Story / סיפור מצחיק

On Saturday morning, Mum goes into Ben’s room and stops at the door. The light is on. The desk lamp is on. The computer is on. Even a small toy robot is on. But Ben is not on. Ben is asleep on the bed. Mum says, “Ben, please wake up and look at this room.” Ben opens his eyes and smiles proudly. “Yes,” he says. “My room is very active.” Mum says, “Please turn off the lamp, turn off the computer, and turn off the robot.” Ben does it very slowly. Then Mum says, “Now clean up your desk.” Ben looks at the desk. There are books, socks, papers, two cups, one spoon, and something that looks like a sandwich from last week. Ben points at the sandwich and says, “This one is not food now. I can throw it away.” Mum says, “Wonderful. Start with that.” After twenty minutes, Ben cleans up half the desk. Then he says, “Good news! I can see the table.” Mum says, “Excellent. Tomorrow we will try to find the floor.”
